Sbu joined Mpact as an Independent Non-executive Director in December 2018. He is the Chair of the Board, Chair of the Nomination Committee, and a member of the Remuneration Committee.

He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Mpande Property Fund Manager Proprietary Limited, a fund that invests in the unlisted property sector. He is the former Chief Executive and Principal Officer of the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund and one of the founding members and former Deputy Chair of Batseta Council of Retirement Funds for South Africa, a pension fund industry body. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Ithala Bank (Ithala SOC Limited) and Chair of Cipla Medpro South Africa Proprietary Limited. He currently serves as a Non-executive Director of Telkom SA SOC Limited and is also a former Non-executive Director of BCX Limited.
