Enterprise & supplier development
Our preferential procurement programme fosters entrepreneurship and promotes transformation across its supply chain by supporting the development of small Blackowned and Black women-owned businesses.
The Group supports several small and mostly Black-owned contractors at Mpact Recycling’s sites by providing and maintaining offices, telephones, scales, and other machinery, as well as covering their overheads. Some of these businesses have expanded and now operate at several recycling sites.
Corporate social investment
Mpact’s CSI initiatives are designed to foster socio-economic growth in local communities, with a focus on nurturing self-esteem, dignity, and a desire for positive change. We concentrate our efforts on education, health, entrepreneurship, and enterprise development, as we believe these areas offer the greatest potential for making a positive impact.
In 2023, the Group made a significant investment in CSI programmes, amounting to R13.6 million (2022: R11.8 million).
See our 2023 Sustainability Report for a full list of community projects.
