In celebration of Mandela Day, Mpact joined hands with Food Forward SA for the Mandela Day Food Drive. The initiative saw the collection of non-perishable food items and the active participation of volunteers who helped pack hampers.
These hampers were successfully distributed to underprivileged communities, supporting Food Forward SA’s ongoing mission of collecting edible surplus food from the consumer goods supply chain and delivering it to those in need throughout the year. This act of solidarity demonstrated Mpact’s commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting vulnerable communities across South Africa.
The Mpact Garden Project is an initiative dedicated to supporting local farming communities. Each year, we donate a variety of seedlings to local farming ladies, helping them cultivate their gardens and sustain their livelihoods. This year, the recipients were delighted to receive a diverse selection of seeds and supplies, including tomatoes, onions, beetroot, pepper, spinach, maize, and snail bait. Additionally, they were provided with essential gardening tools such as buckets to aid in their farming activities. Our focus remains steadfast on the local community, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to thrive. By empowering these women with the necessary tools and knowledge, we aim to foster a sustainable and prosperous environment for all. Through the Mpact Garden Project, we are not just planting seeds in the soil, but also sowing the seeds of hope and growth within our community. Together, we are cultivating a brighter, more sustainable future.
