Mpact Plastics community projects

Sustainability and community upliftment remain at the forefront of our efforts. This year, our division proudly supported several initiatives aimed at education, disaster relief and social development. We are proud of our employees’ commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis, reflecting Mpact’s ethos of “We rise by helping others”.

Mpact Plastic Containers hosted students from Rabboni Christian School for an inspiring recycling awareness programme. Learners were introduced to the importance of recycling and environmental conservation through an engaging presentation, followed by factory tours showcasing the recycling process and the manufacturing of wheelie bins. The hands-on recycling exercise at the end of the programme fully engaged the students, underlining the critical role of recycling in protecting our planet and building a greener future.

In response to the devastating tornado that struck Tongaat in KwaZulu-Natal, Mpact Plastics employees from the Pinetown and Wadeville facilities contributed essential items to the tornado relief drive, in partnership with the Umhlanga Women’s Association.

In celebration of Mandela Day, Mpact Plastic Containers extended their ongoing support to El- Shammah Home in Germiston, a child and youth care centre accredited by the Department of Social Development Gauteng. The home provides a safe haven for abandoned and vulnerable infants up to 18 months old. The team brought essential items and spent time supporting the dedicated caregivers, reflecting the values of kindness and community care that define the legacy of Nelson Mandela.
